PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS - TOBACCO
Seventh and eighth grade Health Education classes developed Public Service Announcements to discourage the use of tobacco in the spring of 2009. These Public Service Announcements can be heard on Brattleboro Community Radio – 107.7 FM or WVEW.org on the web. A group of selected PSAs may also be heard on WTSA and WKVT as well as on our own Guilford Central School web site. This project was done collaboratively with Evvie Jakub (Health Education teacher at Guilford Central School), Lori Greenberg (Facilitator for Know Media and volunteer DJ at WVEW – 107.7 Brattleboro Community Radio), Cindy Twombley (Vermont Department of Health) and Stuart Strothman (Language Arts teacher and Advisor for the Web Department for the Gazette). Each group of students selected a tobacco topic to research and write a script to be recorded as a Public Service Announcement. Our hope is that you will learn something about tobacco that will influence your decisions concerning tobacco as you enjoy listening to them.
