Volunteerism

Winter Activities Program

Winter Activities is a 6 week program of volunteer supervised winter sports activities that runs each Tuesday afternoon starting in January after we return from winter recess. Activities include downhill skiing at MT Snow, ice skating at Brattleboro Memorial Park rink, horseback riding at Lucy Bumps and bowling at the Brattleboro Bowl. Look for packets to go home in November. Scholarships are available. Coordinator, Bevan Quinn who can be reached at 254-6171.

Athletics Program

The Athletics Program organizes after school and weekend sports activities, such as baseball, basketball, soccer, and T-Ball. Our sports programs have been very successful due to the dedication and hard work of these volunteers. Kristin Smith is our athletic director for all sports. She can be reached at 246-1701.

School Garden Program

Primary and intermediate classroom vegetable and flower gardening projects: spring, summer, and fall, where students gain hands on experience working in our school gardens. Learn about plants or share your own knowledge. Cindy Shippee 257-2786

ELF (Environmental Learning for the Future)

ELF is an environmental program for students in grades K-5 under the direction of the Vermont Institute of Natural Science (VINS). On the second Wednesday of the month, VINS staff train teachers and volunteer parents in a specific science lesson and related activities which they then share (in a team of two) with students in a designated classroom. Child care is provided at the workshops.
