Cooperation Between Home and School
In order to be more effective educationally:
The School Needs Children Who:
- come to school after a good night's sleep
- are dressed appropriately for the weather and activities presented at school
- feel that reading, writing, math and world current events are valued by parents. Children will be encouraged by observing their parents enjoying these activities.
- are motivated to learn on their own and with others
- are alert as a result of eating properly, including breakfast, and obtaining plenty of physical exercise
- have learned to be active and attentive listeners: they do not expect to hear directions or requests repeated over and over
- understand clearly what behavior is expected of them by their parents and know that parents will follow through on their expectations
- value their school experience and make every effort to attend school regularly
- generally come to school in a positive, happy mood.
The School in Turn Will:
- provide the best possible learning environment for each child in which each child is taught according to appropriate developmental level skills needed for now and in the future
- provide academic needs which are within the capability of each child
- regularly inform parents of each child's progress. Inform parents of their child's positive accomplishments as well as areas needing improvement.
- provide a safe and orderly learning environment
- generally send children home with positive, happy feelings
- set goals for self-improvement, revise them when necessary, and continue to improve its service to its students
- encourage and welcome parent suggestions, ideas, and constructive involvement.
