News from the Nurse: Please look in your child's Friday folder for a Vaccination Record for the H1N1 immunization if your child received the vaccine at Vernon School. This is for you to keep for your child's immunization records.

WINTER SPORTS UPDATE ~ Our winter sports program starts Tuesday, January 5 and will continue January 12, 26, February 2 and 9. Students not participating need to be picked up at 11:55 A.M., as there is no bus transportation home on those days. Buses will take students participating to the activity, but not home. Please remember for all activities except MT Snow, you will need to pick up your child at 2:30 P.M. at their activity. Parents of MT Snow students can meet the bus for pickup behind Burger King at 5:00 P.M.

SAVE THE DATE!!!! - TUESDAY, DECEMBER 22 - 10:00-10:30 A.M. Parents, younger brothers and sisters and community members are welcome to come to the Middle School Holiday Extravaganza Show. Watch the 6th graders perform TINIKLING and be amazed with the JUGGLING skills of our 7th and 8th graders. This is an event you won't want to miss!

PROJECT FEED THE THOUSANDS Third grade will be collecting non-perishable food in the school lobby until Tuesday, Dec. 22. This year the need for food is greater than ever. Please send in canned foods, soups, pasta, cereal, peanut butter, juice and baby foods. Diapers, formula and personal care items are also needed.

RED CROSS BABYSITTING COURSE: Saturday, January 16th, 2010, 9 a.m.-3 p.m. , at the Red Cross office 81 High St., Brattleboro, VT . Call 802-254-2377 to sign up.

Students 11-15 years old will get the knowledge, skills and confidence to care for infants and school-age children. The course will also teach you how to be a good role model, make decisions, solve problems, and keep children safe, how to handle emergencies such as injuries, illnesses and household accidents, and how to write resumes and interview for jobs. Course fee $45
