Free and Reduced meal - Every year the national food lunch program feeds millions of school children throughout the United States. Here in Guilford, we have many students who are fed breakfast and lunch through this vital program. Given the double whammy of a poor economy and rising heating costs with the advent of winter, this December could be especially rough for some of us. Please consider filling out an application. If you're interested, give the school office a call and we'll make sure that a form is sent home. Everyone wins when families take advantage of the national food lunch program. Children are fed and schools that contain 40% or more of eligible students receive additional funds for educational services.

Seasonal Program at Christ Church, Guilford, Friday & Saturday, Dec.11 & 12, 8:00 P.M.. Admission free, donations welcome. For the 37th year, Friends of Music presents a seasonal program at one of Guilford's most treasured historic buildings. This year's theme is A Pan-American Christmas, a journey from north to south, with carols from the Canadian Huron tradition through Kentucky, to New Orleans and into Mexico and Venezuela. The Guilford Chamber Singers are directed by Andrea Matthews & Amy Cann and joined by fiddle, guitar and cuarto, cello, dulcimer and other instruments. Don McLean will read a chapter from a book recently published by a college classmate. And you'll sing along on several carols. Christ Church is on the knoll just south of the country store, with the pretty spires, and all lit up at night. Info: www.fomag.org or 254-3600.
