8th grade PING PONG TOURNAMENT
Saturday, February 14 for 8 years and up, adolescents and adults. Players
will be categorized by age/experience. Entrance fee is

CONGRATULATIONS to Elizabeth Martyn for being chosen by audition to
participate in The CT Valley District Music Festival, middle school
concert band! She will travel to White River Jct. this Friday to practice
with 60 other students to prepare a concert for 4:00 Saturday. Good luck
Elizabeth!
Girls on the Run is coming to Guilford Central School again this spring!
This program, for 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade girls, encourages running for
all abilities, while promoting self esteem, cooperation and fun. We also
train for a 5k event on May 16. The program will run on Tuesday and
Thursday afternoons from 3:10 - 4:30, March 17 – May 21. Please call
Carol Bailey at 254-4910 if interested in enrolling your daughter in the
program. Also, please see the informational flyer and registration form to
be sent home in your daughter’s Friday folder within the next few weeks.
WALK WITH CATHI THURSDAY AFTERNOON TO THE LIBRARY.
VALENTINE'S DAY FLOWER & FUDGE SALE ~ The 8th grade class will be
delivering Valentine's Day carnations to your Guilford Central School
classmates, teachers and staff as a fundraiser for their 8 grade trip.
Each carnation (red, pink, or exotic) will cost $1.50 a piece or $18 a
dozen delivered.
A sign up sheet will be sent home today so that students can fill out as
to whom they'd like to send a flower to with a message if they choose.
Flowers may also be sent anonymously! This is a great and inexpensive way
to recognize a favorite teacher, helpful staff member, special friend or
valentine!

The sheets should be returned to school on Monday, Feb. 9 with payment and
the flowers will be delivered on Thursday, Feb. 12 or Friday, Feb. 13.
Homemade chocolate fudge $1.00 a piece.

THANK YOU EVERYONE for your donations of personal care items to the
Brattleboro Area Drop-in Center. The first box has been delivered. There
will be a box in the lobby for donations until February vacation.
If you have a CD player or headphones that have been replaced by a holiday
gift, consider a donation to the listening lab at school. Contact Pat

BUHS Special Matinee Musical Performances:
Once Upon A Mattress, Thursday, February 17 at 4:00 P.M. and Saturday,
February 21 at 2:00 P.M. in the BUHS auditorium. Matinee admission is $6
for all seats.
Tickets go on sale Friday, February 6 between 7:00 A.M. and 2:30 P.M. at
the Senior High Office
The True Story of Pinocchio New England Youth Theatre call NEYT-
246-6398. Students, Rebecca Potter and Maia Fulton-Black, are members of
the performing cast.
This decidedly un-Disney production reconstructs the characters and flavor
of the original Italian comedy. Director Eric Bass combines a unique
collection of shadow puppets with music, actors and visual imagery that
allow Pinocchio’s misadventures to come alive with humor and true emotion.
The show appeals to audiences of all ages. Performances are Thursday to

Winter Adventures Vacation Day Camp 2009
Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center
Explore, Imagine, Investigate and Have Fun during February school
vacation! Bonnyvale Environmental Education Center is offering their
annual Winter Adventures Vacation Day Camp for children in grades 2 - 4.
Adventure into the wintertime forest, exploring animal tracks and sign,
building shelters and fires, fashioning fairy homes, creating edible
wildlife art, and learning more about the creatures around us. Join for
one day or all four! The themes of each day will be explored through
outdoor excursions, hands-on activities, games, nature crafts, stories and
songs. Camp, held at BEEC on Bonnyvale Road in West Brattleboro, VT, will
run through daily February 23-26, 9:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M. To register, or
